December's Follow up

Hope you learned at least something new during our Tips and Tricks training. For December's follow up, I need an example of how you use tables or of how you could use tables in creating classroom content. OR....you could send me a screen shot of how you re-organized your CAB folders. On the Mac you can take a screen shot of your screen, by selecting Shift/Command/4 .... that will place a cursor on your screen...just drag the cursor around the area you want to capture and you will hear a click. You should now have a picture file on your desktop. On the Dell, open your CAB to display your new folders, press the keys ALT and PRNT SCRN, nothing will happen, but you are holding a picture of your screen in memory. Open up a Word document and PASTE the image into your document. Please upload that picture file or send it to me via email.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!!!

PS - Don't forget you can always go to Atomic Learning to access video snippet tutorials, via BEEP.

November's Follow Up

This month we will learn about different classroom website builder's, some free, some not so free. If we get more teachers to create classroom websites, maybe I could ask PTA to reimburse you for the cost; otherwise, I will highlight some of the free services. Check the links on the left side of the blog. Your follow up will be to create a classroom website. If you want to continue it for your students and parents, I can link it on the Griffin website.

Happy November!

October's Follow Up

Hope you all enjoyed the extensive Promethean trainings this month. As part of the follow up to our trainings, please set up an account at Promethean Planet and find a flip chart that would enhance some of your current curriculum. After downloading the flip chart, please post a comment on how this technology could enhance your classroom.

Here is the link:

September's Follow up

Since we were trained on using documents cameras in the classroom, I would like to know how you use OR how you would use a document camera in the classroom to support your curriculum?

Welcome Griffin Technology PLC members

In an effort to promote technology use and as a way to reflect on our discussions, I decided to revive the Technology Blog. After our monthly meetings, I will post an essential question and you will post a response. My hope is to open a line of communication and discussion accessible anytime of the day, since our days are packed solid here at school. That is one post per month. I think that is pretty doable :)

If you would like inservice points for this PLC, please let me know.

See you this afternoon in Debbie's classroom for a Promethean demonstration.
